About
Maxim Tsitsejev Максим Чичеев
By day I run Maxinodes, a hosting company. Servers, email, backups — the unglamorous plumbing that keeps other people's sites and inboxes online. Most of what I write here starts in that work, somewhere in the gap between how a system is supposed to behave and what it actually does at two in the morning.
This is where I think out loud. Mostly technology and the craft of running it, but also politics, the occasional legal argument, and a personal essay when something won't leave me alone. I'm an opinionated writer and a careful engineer, and I try to keep both honest.
Every post is written twice — once in English, once in Russian. Not translated; written. The two languages want different things from a sentence, and arguing between them usually leaves the idea clearer than it started.
New writing goes out by RSS and the occasional newsletter.
